The Coromandel has so many amazing places and Flaxmill Bay is one of them. I was particularly struck by the cloud formations and the intense blue in the sky while I was there. I felt particularly lucky when I saw the boats lying on the grass, it balanced the sky.

Nature is so amazing, beautiful yet tenacious. Walking along Flaxmill Bay you come across these beautiful sculpted sandstone cliffs with small caves within. This painting is looking towards the left of Flaxmill bay.

Despite all odds this tree keeps hanging on to the cliffs below it. I loved the shadows the trees gave on the water with little bits of golden sunlight shining through. This painting shows Flaxmill beach ahead with the sandstone cliffs to the right and in the distance.

As I walked toward the beach at Opito Bay, I thought imagine seeing this every day, its got to be the perfect view. So I felt the need to paint it and create a view forever.

While on a road trip driving around the Bay of Islands we came across this scenic spot and stopped for lunch. I was stuck by the stillness of the beach, no one in sight apart ourselves, and this stunningly bright yellow boat on the beach and footsteps and drag marks in the sand.

Size 70.5 x 55.6 (27.75 x 21.88inches ). I saw this pathway while driving on the road to Russell. It was a little hidden by bush, yet well troden. I saw so many colours on the path with the shadows and exposed roots of the trees, the view of the sea peaking through.

This painting was inspired on a trip on holiday at Whangaruru and we came across Bland Bay with its unusual orangy, red and yellow rocks and sparkling waters.

This was the view from a bach we stayed at in Whangaruru, how amazing is that. So amazing it ispired me to paint it on canvas, as this view should be shared with everyone.

It was such a beautiful sunny day and showed the building and trees reflecting back on the water.

Size Height 760 x Width 1016mm (30" x 40") As we couldnt travel or move around for much of time during 2020 due to covid, I looked for subjects to paint that reminded me of freedom and happier times so I felt inspired to paint this painting of Waikawau Beach. When you walk through the darkness of Waikawau Tunnel you are amazed at the beauty that unfolds as you walk towards the beach. A magical place, perfect for picnics and family fun. NZ$800.00

It was a beautiful clear summer day in Mangonui and I was struck by the upturned boat lying on the shore with the driftwood trees and rocks surrounding it and Mangonui cruising club in the distance
